Days 5-9

Day 5...
Again, we began our morning ritual of disassembling the tents and packing our things into the rafts.
We ate a great breakfast and set out to continue rafting the river.
Lunch was prepared and eaten after we stopped at our campsite. After camp was set up, we wrote in our great (Write in the rain!) journals given to us by Kate. (Thank you Kate!)
Day 6...
After waking up and eating breakfast, we took down camp and began our rafting for the day. After rafting the Copper River all day, we stopped and set up camp. We sat and talked around the campfire while we ate s'mores until it was bedtime.
Day 7...
We all awoke and packed up camp and after some delicious pancakes we headed for the million dollar bridge. Once we arrived we visited the sonar station and learned about their program and what they do. Next, we were off too watch the beautiful glacier while we ate lunch. We drove over to our first campsite not along the river side and dropped off our things. Then we headed over to the Watershed Project. After that, WE GOT TO TAKE SHOWERS!!! I was very happy to finally be able to wash up after being along the river so long without a shower.  After showers, it was back to The Watershed Project where we were able to call our parents. We ate dinner and went to our campsite where we had orientation and headed to bed.
Day 8...
We woke up to french toast and sausage. After eating, we headed to the wetlands where we learned about Duskys. We walked the boardwalk and read all of the signs along the way. After learning about duskys, we hiked the haystack. That was a lot of fun. I leaned a lot from all the signs (and Kate because shes so full of knowledge). We had lunch at the Delta gazebo and then it was off to explore and learn about Shannon's father's boat. We went to fish and game next, then went to Matt's Father's boat.  Snacks were given at the Science Center and we drove to the fish processing center where we were able to witness a fish being expertly filleted before our very eyes. Harney Bay was our next stop and we not only saw one bear there, but we saw two! We got to watch an eagle eating his lunch also. We then went back to the campsite and ate. After eating, we had some campfire time while we ate s'mores.
Day 9
We woke up, had breakfast, and went to the Copper River Watershed Project where we worked on our projects all day.
